Carl Shin, MD
Dr. Shin received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Loma Linda University in 1995. He also completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Dr. Shin’s Fellowship in Interventional Spine was completed at University of Pennsylvania under Dr. Curtis Slipman, where he was published in several prominent journals, including the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
In July of 2000, he obtained his Certification from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and established his private practice shortly thereafter in Interventional Spine, Electromyography, and Pain Management. He is the current Chief Medical Officer of Center for Interdisciplinary Spine, a managed care firm that provides workers’ compensation utilization review services to self-insured employers.
Brian A. Kim, MD
Dr. Kim will join us July 2018
Dr. Kim will have completed his pain management fellowship at the Duke University Health System by July 2018 and will be employed as a chronic pain physician with us at the Center for Interdisciplinary Spine. He is fully committed to providing compassionate multidisciplinary care to the chronic pain population in the Greater Sacramento region.
We are confident that his experience with multimodal pain management including medication management, traditional fluoroscopic injections, ultrasound-guided procedures, spinal cord/peripheral nerve stimulators, and kyphoplasty will be an asset to CIS.
Tim Yoon, MD
Dr. Yoon graduated from Loma Linda University where he completed medical school and his post graduate training. Dr. Yoon is Board Certified in both Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain Medicine.
His goal is to promote the public’s awareness of physical medicine and rehabilitation for those suffering from pain.
Ken Shoji, DC
Dr. Shoji graduated Magna Cum, Laude at Life Chiropractic College West in 1993.
With over 20 years of experience in the California Workers Compensation system, Dr. Shoji has wealth of knowledge necessary to ensure patients receive the best treatment available within the scope of the current guidelines.
Rachel Gonzales, PAC
Rachel Gonzales graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine, 1997. Soon after, she moved to Sacramento and has been caring for patients in the area ever since.
She has over 15 years experience in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine prior to joining CIS in 2012.
Jason Packer, DC, PAC
Jason Packer DC, PA-C graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose California in 2002.
He practiced as a Chiropractor in the Sacramento area for nine years. Wanting to further his education, he graduated from UC Davis FNP/PA school in 2013.
Dr. Packer briefly worked in Orthopedic Surgery before specializing in pain management at CIS.
Lisa Cederbaum, ANP
Lisa Cederbaum is a Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience, mostly in tertiary settings with specialties including Oncology, Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, and Chronic Pain. She also has over 20 years experience as a Yoga Practitioner.
Ms. Cederbaum hopes of inspiring health by bringing Western medicine and Eastern Philosophy together through treatment of chronic pain through Western practice and Eastern practices of yoga, yogic philosophy and meditation.
